About Us

What is YWGAA?

 

Young Women's Global Action Alliance is a youth-led organization that aims to encourage young women to become active global citizens and give them the resources needed to support women and girls in developing countries across the world. From amplifying the voices of women's rights activists to creating an easy-access resource library of the best female-focused charities, we strive to create a helpful and inspiring platform for young women everywhere.

 

YWGAA was founded by Julia Knispel, a teenager from Connecticut who felt powerless to support women struggling thousands of miles away. She became informed about countless human rights violations through the news and social media but she wasn’t sure how to help. She was overwhelmed by the amount of problems, organizations, and information that each organization contained.  So, in 2023, Julia created the Young Women's Global Action Alliance. By consolidating many female-focused charities in one place and designing a user-friendly format for girls to see how they can get involved with them, she hopes to connect like-minded young women with charities that best fit their skills and interests.
